Raquel Lily
Raquel Lily
Indie-R&B from Birmingham AL

Originally hailing from the Philippines, Lily grew up in a musical family and began performing from a young age. She listened to everything from classic rock [with The Beatles being her biggest influence] to heavy metal, which seemed to shape her own unique musical style. It was not until college in Miami that she picked up her acoustic guitar and seriously started singing and writing. “All of my songs are based on specific experiences and actual stories and metaphors about myself”, says Lily. […]Her passion for writing and telling stories is evident in her work. Music is just another way she connects with people and helps bring them together, despite [their] differences. “Being able to share my stories with others and have it impact them in some way, or even to just make them smile in the crowd is in itself rewarding.” Her joy for music is certainly infectious. You can not help but smile and sing along with you hear her catchy melodies and lyrics. Listening to tracks such as “Killer” and “Without You” will have you singing and tapping your toes for the rest of the day. Her music can be described as [indie-pop]/rock with some jazz influences. Her clear, powerful voice perfectly complements her unique style and sound.

Heavy Improvisation, deeply rooted in Funk, Rock, Drum and Bass, Gospel, Jazz, & World music from Birmingham AL

Beck Hall, DeVonte Hutchins, Taylor Goodwin

Three professional musicians from very different musical backgrounds sharing a common set of goals.
We are here to explore, push, and break through the traditional sets of musical boundaries between which most music is confined. Through improvisation, composition, and interaction with our audience members - we hope to blur and even dissolve these lines, all while maintaining dance-ability.
As we’ve seen done before us, we also desire to bring people of all walks of life together through the power of musical exploration. The feelings of freedom, positivity, & acceptance that music certainly has shown to manifest, we hope to strengthen the openness and closeness of our musical community.
Last but not least is certainly a goal of ours that we share with many of the artists we are influenced by... The Pearl hopes to inspire groups or individuals to express themselves by doing what they love, without holding anything back.
We also all three like cheeseburgers.
