Captain Kudzu
Captain Kudzu
Rock from Opelika AL

Captain Kudzu is hard to place in any specific musical category. This is due to principle songwriter Jackson Gafford’s eclectic and unique approach to songwriting - he’s as well versed making loop based compositions and beats as he is in performing, and his music takes cues from everything from ambient pop to garage rock. Taking the form of either a solo loop based set or a full band with bassist Timothy Collier and drummer Abby Anderson, Captain Kudzu’s music jumps effortlessly between sparse and hazy, energetic and introspective, carefree and existential - all without losing its distinct catchiness.

Since relocating from Opelika, AL to Birmingham in 2017, Captain Kudzu has shared the stage with regional acts like Omni and Swarming Branch. Their sophomore LP Arburetum is slated to drop in mid-to-late 2018, at which time they will also appear on the Seasick Stage at Slossfest 2018.
Dree Leer
Dree Leer
Indie from Birmingham AL

Dree Leer is what happens when three teens of the 90s get together and play loud, fuzz-driven, three chord, rock music.

It's been 6 years since Jackie Lo (guitar/vox) released an album and with a handful of songs she approached her friends Tim Frazier (Me and My Knife/drums) and Mandy Graffeo (aka Starstuff/bass) to join her as Dree Leer.
