Mighty Brother
Mighty Brother
Mighty Brother is a songwriting duo honoring the folk tradition of lyrical storytelling while embracing the eclectic instrumentation of the indie folk genre.

Like if you heard Fleet Foxes through the walls at the Neutral Milk Hotel and mistook it for The Avett Brothers.

Through elaborate collaboration, songwriters Jake Ryan and Nick Huster brought a certain harmony to the musical talents of the Bloomington community, channeling their own brand of youthful enthusiasm to explore the humbling concepts of growth and loss, love and letting go, longing and adventure set to an ethereal winter landscape.

Crystallizing in the Midwest winter of 2014, Mighty Brother set to work composing Jettison. Reprise., their first full-length record. The band labored through the spring to solidify a dream team of musicians and arrangers, artists and engineers excited to bring their specific skills to the recording. In its entirety, Jettison. Reprise. features 19 individuals, complete with a string quartet and a brass quintet. Mixing engineer, Eric Day, of Sleepwalk Recording, shows his experience and skillful ear on the record, while Kate Siefker, a Paul Mahern protégé, adds the polishing touches with careful and meticulous mastering. Together they were able to hone the diverse timbres present on Jettison. Reprise., set to drop December 2015.

Meanwhile, Mighty Brother pushed through the summer of 2015 to produce 9 YouTube videos, a 9-track Live album, a 3-track comedy EP, and 1 "ridiculously catchy video about owning a band van" (NUVO). In all, the brothers mobilized 4 video production teams, 3 sound engineers, and 22 friends. They also led a successful crowdfunding campaign at the end of July, featuring a track on WFHB's Sweetheart of the Radio show and raising over $1000 for production costs.

Jettison. Reprise. is a look at life as a process, a journey to maturity with a thoughtful glance over the shoulder. Mighty Brother perfects this with their cinematic single "Think It Wise," released September 4th, with shimmering images of childhood adventure and the looming burden of adulthood. You can listen to "Think It Wise" on NUVO.net.

Now based in New Orleans, Mighty Brother is preparing for their December 17th album release with a three-legged winter tour, hitting major cities through the South and the Midwest.

The Wild Now
The Wild Now
indie rock from Austin TX

The Wild Now is an Austin, TX based duo consisting of Taylor Baker and Drew Walker. The two met in 2013 at a Local Natives show at the city’s annual SXSW Music Festival. Following that fateful day in March, the two began writing and recording songs under the moniker Taylor & the Wild Now. Success came sooner rather than later, as the two won American Songwriter’s Sole Performer award in 2014 and toured the country playing shows.

In 2016, the duo shortened their name to The Wild Now, partnered with Austin, TX producer, David Beck, and released the ‘Tides’ EP. Combining Taylor’s dreamy, yet powerful vocals with Drew’s intricate guitar work, the duo solidified their breezy indie pop sound. Influencers such as Local Natives, Chet Faker, and Glass Animals shine through on all of the tracks. Key tracks from the EP, “Salt” and “Gold Dust,” found homes on a variety of Spotify playlists and have accrued over 2 million combined streams, to date.

The band is poised to release their second EP on May 19th. They have teamed up with David Beck on four tracks and had Austin’s latest breakout, Max Frost, produce a single from the EP. All the tracks have been mixed by Matty Green (Wild Belle, Yeasayer, TV on the Radio). Driving synths and jungle disco-esque guitar work build on the band’s previous dreamy, island indie pop sound to create a diverse collection of songs that one can listen to on the beach or at a rave. These tracks will be showcased where it all began, at SXSW 2017. The Wild Now has come full circle and is ready to be Austin, TX’s latest success story.
