Angela Perley & The Howlin' Moons
Rock & Roll from Columbus OH

Armed with electric guitars, swooning vocals, and songs that split the difference between rock & roll and dreamy psychedelia, Angela Perley & the Howlin' Moons pack the biggest punch of their career with Homemade Vision.

Like the band's debut, Hey Kid — an album whose kickoff track, "Athens," earned Perley an International Songwriting Award in 2014 — Homemade Vision was recorded in the Howlin' Moons' hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Many of the songs were dreamt up somewhere along the highways and backroads that crisscross America, though, coaxed into life by a group of roots-rock road warriors who regularly play more than 100 shows a year. As a result, Homemade Vision is the sort of wide-ranging record that creates its own geography, building an imaginary place where the influences of David Gilmour, Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, and Nebula all intersect.

It's also the work of a genuine band. Chris Connor's guitar playing — a flurry of fuzz, crunch, twang and bang — occupies just as large a role as Perley's voice, while Billy Zehnal's bass — coupled with cymbal crashes and snare hits from an arsenal of heavy-hitting drummers — glues the mix together. Inspired by love, heartbreak, and everything in between, Homemade Vision is a battle cry from a band that's spent years fighting the good fight, carving out their own brand of atmospheric, aggressive Americana along the way.
Renshaw Davies
Renshaw Davies
Roots Folk Duo from New Orleans LA

Renshaw Davies is a new roots/ folk duo based in New Orleans, Louisiana, comprised of John Renshaw (vocals, guitar) and Emily Davies (vocals, light percussion). They draw influences from the fused harmonies of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, the desert air of Fleetwood Mac, Shovels and Rope's sweet and wild abandon, Bob Dylan's raw poetry, and the acerbic wit of Father John Misty.

The duo routinely tours across the south, sharing the stage with acts such as Alejandro Escovedo, The Kid Carsons, Motel Radio, Sam Doores, Mipso, The Whiskey Shivers, W.B. Givens, Alexis and the Samurai, Escondido, and Banditos.

A native New Orleanian, John Renshaw (vocals, guitar) grew up all over the country: Oklahoma, Florida, Virginia, Ohio, and Georgia. Ultimately though, he was drawn back to his roots. Meanwhile, Emily, born and raised in Maryland, felt the pull towards New Orleans, and went to find out where music would take her.

The pair met four years ago one fateful open mic night at Neutral Ground Coffeehouse in Uptown, New Orleans. Since that day, Emily and John have been playing together in various formations and bands before finding their true voice as the two-piece, Renshaw Davies.

The duo's single is a 7" vinyl record including songs "Auctioneer" and "Going Down the Road". The tracks contrast with Renshaw Davies' live show in that they feature bass, drums, banjo, bouzouki, organ, and lap steel. This session was produced and recorded at New Orleans' own, Bear America Records on Magazine St.

Currently, Renshaw Davies is planning a cross country tour to support their upcoming debut album, also being produced and recorded at Bear America Records.
